New Browns’ stadium only has 12,000 parking spaces

According to Lincoln Property Company, the developer for the Browns, less than ten percent of the total project is for the football stadium.

Here is their photo of it:

Is that enough for 65,000 fans on game day?

Why doesn’t it have more than 12,000 parking spaces?

It is because most of the project is not for a stadium or fans.

It is to make money from:

  • 300,000 square feet of retail for food, bars, and souvenir shopping

  • two upscale hotels

  • 1,100 apartments

  • 500,000 square feet of office space

  • 450 hotel rooms

  • 575 apartments

  • team store

The rest of the parking is to the west of the orange stadium site, which is across the railroad tracks.

Trains will block the entrance or exit to the stadium on game day or other events.

The intention is to pack the restaurants and bars after the game, as fans can’t get to their cars.

The Browns are asking for $70 million to cover infrastructure costs. No details are available.

The Browns’ record under the Haslam ownership is 70-123-1.

Its only winning season was in 2020.
