Gov. releases Tina Peters on April 3rd
Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) anticipates releasing Tina Peters, 70, from jail on April 3rd.
She has been in jail for 532 days of a nine-year sentence for a variety of state charges.
Details are in this story:
Mrs. Peters’ release is contingent upon a ruling by the Colorado Court of Appeals.
On Jan. 26th, Appeals Judge Craig Welling questioned whether Tina was improperly "punished" because she said Colorado election officials and Dominion used compromised election systems to steal the 2020 Presidential election.
On Jan. 8th, Gov. Polis said Tina’s sentence was “harsh” for someone her age who is a:
first-time offender
not a threat to the community, and
is in poor health with cancer.
Peters is currently held at the La Vista Correctional Facility in Pueblo, Colorado.
