A challenge to California’s Prop 50 redistricting law, which allegedly passed yesterday, was filed today in federal court.
The law adds four more Democrats to the House of Representatives next year.
The first response from the defendants is a motion for dismissal.
The defendants are California politicians:
Gavin Newsom, Governor
Shirley Weber, Secretary of State.
However, if an amended complaint alleges a criminal conspiracy or RICO, the case is rekindled.
This avoids an immediate dismissal of the case.
Details are in this story:
Utah Chief Justice and Governor sued personally under RICO
When was the last time the Republican Party won a voting rights case?
The 26-page complaint hasn’t even appeared in official federal court records.

Elias is Hillary Clinton’s attorney.
